Furthermore, the movie was said to have also grossed $258 million in sales in the U.S. alone. With these numbers, “Infinity War” broke both the domestic opening-weekend box office record and the worldwide opening record. However, we were not really completely taken much by surprise. Considering the movie is 10 years in the making and the culmination of 18 films previously released by Marvel Studios. All tied together for this latest film against the galaxy’s biggest threat yet, the mad Titan, Thanos. Every one of these characters has been on a very specific journey. Through the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to arrive at this moment. A lot has been said to when or where we could we could see each character in a story. Now with a single mission to prevent the powerful purple alien Thanos (Josh Brolin) from destroying the universe.

Notably, “Infinity War” topped 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and beat out “Fate of the Furious” by almost $100 million for best global debut domestically.  Worldwide, Black Panther has taken in $1.3 billion in sales; it and Infinity War have brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise to $15 billion all-time.

Four other Marvel films were also said to have grossed more than a billion worldwide: “The Avengers (2012)”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)”, “Iron Man 3 (2013)”, and “Captain America: Civil War (2016)”.

However, we would just have to fasten our belt and wait to see if this movie will go from the biggest opening of all time to the biggest movie of all time.
