Blindspotting is a 2018 American comedy-drama film. This movie is directed by Carlos López Estrada and it is written by Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs. Blindspotting had its world premiere on the 18th of January 2018 in the U.S Dramatic Competition section at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
The Lifelong friends Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal co-wrote and star in this timely, interesting and a wildly entertaining story. The story is about the intersection of race and class, set against the backdrop of a rapidly gentrifying Oakland. Although the film is not yet out in the US, this movie will be out on the 26th of July 2018.
Blindspotting Movie Plot
Blindspotting Movie is all about two childhood friends which are the convicted felon Collin (Diggs) and troublemaker Miles (Casal). Through the last three days of Collin’s year-long probation. The convicted Felon Collin(Diggs) lives in a probation house and he struggles hard trying to get his life in order. In the past, he is always involved in a criminal act but he is trying to put his criminal past behind him.
On the other hand, Collins friend Miles (the short-tempered and rowdy) searches for trouble and embraces the “street” lifestyle. One night while waiting anxiously for a red light to change in order to get home for his 11 pm curfew. Collin witnesses a white police officer (Embry) gun down a black civilian. This incident haunts Collin over the next few days. Later in the play Miles purchases, a gun but the gun ends up in the hands of his young son “Sean”. This incident horrifies Sean’s mother Ashley (Cephas Jones) because she doesn’t like the idea of Miles purchasing a gun that ends up in the hand of her son.
