Book Club movie is a 2018 American romantic comedy film directed by Bill Holderman, in his directorial debut. The movie stars Diane KeatonJane FondaCandice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen as four friends in their 60s. They are four successful women who belong in a monthly book club.

Book Club movie focuses on these four successful women who belong in a monthly book club. They start reading E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, which inspires them to rekindle their own love lives. However, this serves as an excuse for these women to get into the same room regularly. While in the room, they talk about their love lives and can assess and analyze one another’s relationships or lack of thence.


Diane (Diane Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage often likes being on her own. Vivian (Jane Fonda) enjoys her men with no strings attached, treats sex as a contact sport, not an act of intimacy. Sharon (Candice Bergen) is still working through her decades-old divorce, her husband dumped her for a young trophy fiancé (Mircea Monroe). And Carol’s (Mary Steenburgen) marriage is in a slump after 35 years.
