The covid-19 vaccine will be given to the US first, while the UK must wait until Spring. Britain faces a long wait for a tremendously exciting Moderna jab that claims a success rate of 94.5%. The most effective coronavirus vaccine now may not be made available in Britain because US citizens are being given first concern.

Moderna is the third group to announce and release interim trial results confirming that its vaccine protects 94.5% of people.

This makes it more successful than the jabs from PFIZER/BioNTech and also Russia.

However, the Health Secretary announced five million doses of the vaccine have been requested for the UK.

It will not be made available in Britain no until Spring 2021 at the earliest, because the company has prioritized the US.

The US as its main market and availability would be limited.

The government has ordered about 350 million vaccines from BioNTech/Pfizer, Novavax, Janssen, Oxford/AstraZeneca, and also Valneva.

However, Moderna has been testing the jab on about 35,000 people and interim results show it protected nearly everyone from the virus.

also including the elderly and the vulnerable ones. who are at higher risk.

So far, it is the first vaccine to be shown to protect older people and also prevent serious diseases.

Us spent more than $1 billion bankrolling the vaccine for the virus, which has promised 20 million doses at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Moderna has revealed that its own candidates appear to be more effective in preventing diseases among those infected with the deadly virus

Covid-19 vaccine: How Does the Vaccine Work?

Just like the Pfizer vaccine, it contains a genetic code called messenger RNA( mRNA) in a fat droplet.

So it is injected into the body and this triggers the cells to make the spike protein on the coronavirus.

Then their immune system can recognize this part of the virus and fight it off when they encounter it.

The Moderna drugs are far quicker to distribute because it can be kept in usual freezer conditions of -4F(-20),

while Pfizer’s jab needs to be stored and transported in dry ice around – 103F(75C).

But it may be more costly because it needs 100 micrograms per dose more than three times than Pfizer’s.

The Moderna vaccine is remarkably exciting and considerably boosted the optimism that a vaccine has been made available in the next few months.
