Death on the Nile is an upcoming American mystery thriller movie written by Michael Green, based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agathe Christie. It is directed by Kenneth Branagh and is a follow-up to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express. It stars Branagh and Tom Bateman returning as Hercule Poirot and Bouc respectively, as well as Gal Gadot, Russell Brand, Annette Bening, Ali Fazal, Sophie Okonedo, Dawn French, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Jennifer Saunders, Emma Mackey, and Letitia Wright.

Plot Summary of Death on the Nile

While on vacation on the Nile of Egypt, Hercule Poirot (a world-renowned detective) sets out to find a murderer linked to a mysterious love triangle.


Death on the Nile is scheduled to be theatrically released within the US on October 23, 2020, by 20th Century Studios. it had been previously set to be released on December 20, 2019, before being rescheduled to October 9, 2020. It had been then pushed back a fortnight to its current release date in response to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing many changes in Disney’s (owners of 20th Century Studios) release schedule.
