Early Life of Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California, to Ata Johnson and Rocky Johnson (former professional wrestler). While growing up, he lived briefly with his mother’s family in New Zealand, where he played rugby and attended Richmond Road Primary School in Grey Lynn. He returned to the United States, where he attended Montclaire Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina before moving to Hamden, Connecticut. He spent a couple of years at Shepherd Glen Elementary school and Hamden Middle School. Dwayne spent his high school years at Glencliff High School and McGavock High School in Nashville, Tennessee, Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and President William McKinley High School In Honolulu, Hawaii.
