His mother (Irmelin Inderbirken) is a legal secretary, while his father (George DiCaprio) is an underground comix write, publisher, and distributor of comic books. His parents divorced when he was still a toddler, he was mostly raised by his mother. Despite his parents’ divorce, Leonardo remained close to his father.

Leonardo DiCaprio attended Seeds Elementary School and later went to John Marshall High School.
