It was announced in March 2016 that ‘Liz Garbus’ will direct the film, from a screenplay by Michael Werwie based upon the novel of the same name by ‘Robert Kolker. It was also announced that Kelvin McCormack, David Kennedy, Rory Koslow, Anne Carey, and Amy Nauiokas will serve as producers on the film, while the executive producer of the film will be Pamela Hirsch, with Amazon Studios distributing. Sarah Paulson joined the cast of the film in February 2017, while Amy Ryan joined the cast of the film replacing Paulson in May 2018, with Netflix distributing the film. In October 2018, Thomasin McKenzie, Gabriel Byrne, Oona Laurence, Lola Kirke, Miriam Shor, Reed Birney, Kevin Corrigan, and Rosal Colon, also joined the cast of the film.

Filming and Release Date


The filming began on the 15th of October, 2018. The movie had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on the 28th of January 2020. it has been scheduled to be released on the 13th of March, 2020 in the United States.
