Mortal Kombat is an American martial arts fantasy film of 2021 which was directed by Simon McQuoid. Just from a screenplay by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham and a story by Oren Uziel.

Mortal Kombat is based on the video game franchise of the same name created by Ed Boon and John Tobias as well. Serving as a reboot to the Mortal Kombat film series.

Mortal Kombat stars Jessica McNamee, Lewis Tan, Tadanobu Asdano, Josh Lawanson, Mehcad Brooks, Chin Han, Ludi Lin, Hiroyuki Sanasda and Joe Taslim.

Mortal Kombat was released Theatrically on the 8th of April, 2021 internationally. And now it is scheduled to be vreleased sometime in April, 2021 in the United States of America by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema simultaneosly in theaters and obn the HBO Max streaming service.

Premise

In this film, MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to receiving a beating for money, isnt aware of his heritage. Or the reason Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent Sub-Zero, his best warrior to hunt dowm Cole.

Him fearing for the safety of his own family, Cole went searching for Sonyas Blade at the direction of Jax.

He later sees himself at the temple of Lord Raiden. Lord Raiden is an Elder zgod as well as the protector of Eaerthrealm who gives sanctuary to those that carries the mark.

Filming and Music

The productiion of the Mortal Komabt took place at Adelaide Studios and several other location in South Australia. And the shooting of the film lasted from 16th of September to 13th of December, 2019.

And Todd Garner mentioned something in his statement regarding the delay of the film release. He said: “we have more days to shoot”.

Later on, the film was shot on the ARRI ALEXA LF and the Mini LF cameras having the Panavision Anamorphic lenses.

Bejamin Wallfiusch composed the music for Mortal Kombat. Also, in March 2021, Simon McQuoid, the director made it clear that Benjamin wallfisch started the compositions for the film before he waqs hyired officiually on the project.

And also that Mortal Kombat will have a new version of the track “techno Syndrome” by The Immortals produced by Benjamin Wallfisch still.

Mortal Kombat Release Date

Mortal kombat was released theatrically internationally starting from the 8th of April 2021 excluding US.

However the film is set to be released in the United States of Americaon the 23rd of April, 2021 in both theaters and on HBO Max too.

Mortal Kombat is also scheduled to be released in Japan on the 18th of June, 2021. Despite not having any Mortal Kombat games officially launched in the country. Because of the CERO rules of excessive gore.
