One Night in Miami had its world premiere on the 7th of September, in the year 2020 at the Venice Film Festival. And it was the first movie to be directed by an African-American woman to be chosen in the history of the festival. The film got a whole lot of positive reviews, together with critics praising King’s direction, the performances, as well as the writing.

However, the film is scheduled to be released on the 25th of December, 2020 in a limited release. Together with digital streaming on the 15th of January, next year, which is 2021 on Prime Video.
