Respect is an upcoming American biographical musical drama film that was directed by Liesl Tommy.
And it was written by Tracey Scott Wilson and Callie Khouri. And it is based on the life of American singer and civil rights activist Aretha Franklin.
Respect Movie 2021 is scheduled to be released on the 13th of August 2021. In the United States by United Artists Releasing.
And in the United Kingdom on the 10th of September, 2021 by Universal Pictures.

The project had been deep in development, together with Jennifer Hudson set to play Aretha Franklin. Franklin was involved with the development up until her demise on the 16th of August 2018.
In January 2019, Liesl Tommy was set to be the director of the film. While the remaining casts were included in October 2019.
Not excluding Marlon Wayans, Forest Whitaker, Mary J. Blige, and Audra McDonald.
In a June 2019 slate deal, MGM included Bron Creative as a co-financing and producing company to this film.
The filming started in Atlanta, Georgia on the 2nd of September, 2019. And wrapped on the 15th of September, 2020.
MGM’s President of the Motion Picture Group, Jonathan Glickman left the company on the 1st of February, 2020. He left with a first-look deal beginning with the film.
Respect Movie 2021 is scheduled to be released theatrically on the 13th of August 2021 in the United States. It was initially set for a limited release on the 25th of December 2020.
With an expansion on the 8th of January 2021, before going deep the following week.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was changed to a sole wide release on the 15th of January.
Without any limited release before it was then scheduled again to August 2021. The former release dates also added the 14th of August, 2020, and October 9.
