Shazam (2019) Movie Review, Cast and Plot


Shazam is an upcoming American superhero film. The movie is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is Produced by New Line Cinema and it is intended to be the seventh installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). This film is Directed by David F. Sandberg and the screenplay is written by Henry Gayden.

The movie stars include  Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou. This film will be the first film version of the character since the 1941 serial Adventures of Captain Marvel. Shazam will release on the 5th of April 2019 in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures. It will be available in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX 3D.

Shazam movie Plot

This movie follows Billy Batson who is a troubled 14-year-old orphan living in Philadelphia. He is set up to move into a new foster home with the Vazquez family and their other five foster kids. Billy Batson gets on a subway car one day and he finds himself transported to a different realm.


He was given the power to transform into a godlike adult superhero by an ancient wizard. But he has to utter the word Shazam before he will transfer to godlike adult. Billy and his new foster brother Freddy Freeman have to learn how to use the superhero power in order to stop villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana from wielding powers of his own.
