Snake Eyes which is also known as “Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins” is an upcoming American superhero film of 2021. The film was being directed by Robert Scwentke.

Together with a screenplay that was written by Evan Spiliotopoulus. Anna Waterhouse, and Joe Shrapnel, from a story by Spiliotopoulus.

The Snake Eyes film of 2021 is based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe toy, media franchise, and comic. And it is a reboot of the G.I. Joe film series. It serves as an origin story for the title character Snake Eyes.

Henry Golding features as the character, while he replaced Ray Park who portrayed him in the former films. Whereas Andrew Koji, Samara Weaving, Ursula Corbero, Takehiro Hira, Haruka Abe, and Iko Uwais also features.

The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on the 23rd of July 2021 by Paramount Pictures.

Premise

A lonely fighter is accepted and being trained by an ancient Japanese ninja clan known as “Arashikage”.

However, he finds his loyalty being tried when they uncovered secrets from his past. As he goes on the path eventually to become the hero called the “Snake Eyes”.

Production

It was mentioned in May 2018 that the next plan on the G.I. Joe franchise would be a spin-off film. Documenting the origins of the character Snake Eyes.

However, in December Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer, mentioned that Ray Park. Who has played this particular character in the former films, would not repeat his role for the film.

In that same month, Robert Schwentke became the director.

Snake Eyes Release Date

The 2021 movie is scheduled to be released on the 23rd of July, 2021. In Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, and IMAX.

It was formerly set to be released on the 27th of March, 2020 before it was being delayed to October 16. And then to “3rd of October, still in the same year.

Later, the film was withdrawn from the release schedule on the 27th of July. The reason is due to the lockdown. And closures of theatres in the United States of America due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Later, Paramount Pictures reset the release of the film for the 22nd of October, 2021. Before it was then moved up to July 2021. Snake Eyes 2021 could be available to stream 45 days after it’s being released in theatres on Paramount+.
