Scholarship Details

The selection for the DAAD scholarships is highly competitive. Only developing country nationals with at least four years of full-time university education and an outstanding Bachelor’s degree can apply.

In addition to the general AgEcon entry requirements, scholarship applicants need to prove a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. The graduation from university should not be longer than 6 years ago.

The DAAD scholarship selection process is quite competitive. Only citizens of developing countries who have completed at least four years of full-time university education and have earned an exceptional Bachelor degree are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Duration and Reward

  • Insurance premiums for health, accident, and personal liability.
  • Travel allowance, unless the home nation or another source of funding covers these costs.
  • Monthly payments of 861 euros for graduates and 1,200 euros for doctorate candidates, based
    on academic level.

  • A personally signed Letter of Motivation (maximum of two pages) with the current date (with reference to present occupation and postgraduate program(s) of choice)..
  • Letter of recommendation from your current employer; the letter must have letterhead, a signature and official stamp and must be of current date (not in a sealed envelope)
  • Certificate(s) of Employment from the employer(s) demonstrating a minimum of two years of relevant working experience (after the bachelors degree) at the time of application, as well as, if feasible, a promise of re-employment from your current employer when you return home..
  • Proof of Language Skills:
  • English – IELTS or TOEFL (Note: The institutional TOEFL is not accepted)
  • German – required for courses taught in German
  • Copies of Academic Degrees (certified translation if necessary)
  • Copies of Academic Transcripts, incl. grading-scale (certified translation if necessary)
  • Applicants from the People’s Republic of China are asked to submit an APS Certificate with their application documents.
