The Simpsons Plot Summary

While working on Lake Springfield, the band Green Day perishes when the lake’s pollution dissolves its barge. At their memorial, Grampa Simpson prophesies the destruction of the town.

But only Marge Simpson takes this seriously. Later that day, Homer Simpson dares Bart to skateboard naked to Krusty Burger but is caught by Chief Wiggum upon arriving, who then handcuffs him to a close-by lamppost.

Bart promptly bonds with their neighbor Ned Flanders, who he decided was a far better father because Homer refused to require responsibility for the incident, while Lisa and her new friend Colin convince the whole town to wash their lake.

Homer rescued a pig from Krusty Burger. He stores its feces during a large silo until Marge tells him to securely eliminate the waste.

Homer initially intends to require his silo to the waste management plant. But after Lenny calls to inform him that Lard Lad Donuts is making a gift of free donuts.

Homer dumps the silo straight into the lake, which severely pollutes it. Moments later, a squirrel jumps into the lake who was chased by a raccoon and is mutated by the pollution.

Flanders and Bart discover the creature before the EPA captures it. Russ Cargill, head of the EPA, presents five “unthinkable” options to U.S. President Arnold Schwarzenegger to stay the town’s pollution contained.

However, the slow-witted president picks an option without reading it, to which Springfield is trapped during a gigantic glass dome.

Later that night, the police discover Homer’s silo within the lake and upon discovering the name “Return to Homer Simpson.

No reward” thereon, suspect that Homer is liable for the dome. The townspeople (except the Flanders family and Colin) form an angry mob and advance on the Simpsons’ home to kill Homer and his family in revenge, but they manage to flee through a sinkhole.

Which then destroys their house and car. With the EPA on their trail, the Simpsons flee to a motel to spend the night. the subsequent day, Homer wins a truck at a carnival by riding a motorbike inside a spherical steel cage with Lisa’s help and drives the family to Alaska.

After three months of the many failed escape attempts, Springfield’s residents finally make a little crack within the dome.

Remarking the damage, Cargill manipulates Schwarzenegger into ordering the town’s destruction. In Alaska, the Simpsons see a billboard featuring Hanks as he views the opening for a replacement Grand Canyon on the location of Springfield.

Realizing that their hometown is in peril, Marge and therefore the children want to return to save lots of it, but Homer, thinking he would risk his life putting his family in peril if they return to Springfield, selfishly refuses to assist the townspeople who tried to kill him and angrily storms off.

Later, Homer returns to seek out his family gone and receives a video message left by Marge that she taped over their wedding video.

Having a change of heart after realizing the error of his ways, he goes checking out his family, but is stranded on a slab of ice and floats away.

After being saved from an ice bear and located by a native woman, Homer has an epiphany and decides to return to Springfield so as to save lots of his family and therefore the town from destruction.

Meanwhile, Marge and therefore the children are captured by Cargill and the EPA after they’re overheard by the NSA before they’re placed back inside the dome.

When Homer finally arrives at Springfield, a helicopter lowers a “small-but-powerful bomb” down a rope through a hole within the dome.

While Homer climbs the dome from the surface using superglue on his hands, the townspeople inside plan to climb the rope to flee through the still-opened hole.

However, Homer slides down the rope and accidentally knocks them off alongside the bomb, accelerating the detonation time within the process.

After reuniting and reconciling with Bart, Homer rides a motorbike up the dome interior, almost like the sooner carnival attraction.

Bart, riding with him, manages to hurl the bomb through the opening which detonates seconds later, finally shattering the dome and saving the town from destruction.

Cargill confronts the 2 and threatens to shoot them with a shotgun for foiling his plan, but maggie knocks him out with an outsized boulder.

Lisa reunites with Colin while the townspeople forgive Homer and hail him a hero for saving their hometown. He rides into the sunset with Marge and Maggie, whereupon the townspeople restore Springfield to normal.

As a logo of their gratitude, the townspeople also help the Simpsons rebuild their house that was destroyed by the sinkhole earlier.
